The “Stade de France”
is the national stadium of France. It’s situated
just north of Paris in the commune
of Saint-Denis. It has an
all-seater capacity of 81,338, making it the sixth
largest stadium in Europe, and is used by both the France national football team and French rugby union team for
international competition. The stadium
was built for the 1998 FIFA World Cup, and the name of the stadium was recommended by French legend Michel Platini. It was
inaugurated the 28th of January, 1998 by the president of the
republic, Jacques Chirac, for the match France-Spain.
The stadium was inaugurated with a lot frenches sportsmen
and sportswomen, a wonderful show with 1200 youngers who cost 3 million francs.
Two people cut a long French flag (length: 80 meters; width: 4.5 meters) before
the match
Zinédine Zidane is the first player to have scored a
goal against the team of Spain.
