ANNIBALE CARRACCI





Annibale Carracci (November 3, 1560 – July 15, 1609) was an Italian Baroque painter. He studied big artists such as Michelangelo, Tiziano and they influenced him but he synthesized and revisited their influences with his new realistic artistic vision. One of his most important painter is “Il mangiatore di fagioli” (beans eater)of 1584. It is an essential and direct work that wants to represents ordinary life. The picture is about a man with common clothes, he is eating his meal made of a big bean dish, onions, mushrooms and bread. All is accompanied by some red wine. The man is hungry and concentrated on the abundant and caloric food. Probably the location is a popular inn : there are no traces of rich  and elements the food is very simple
